All Programs at EB Lyons Interpretive Center/Mines of Spain

Friends of the Mines of Spain present their Winter Program Series 12-1pm at the EB Lyons Center, 8991 Bellevue Heights Road, 52003. Free and open to all ages. Nature center is open 10-2 on Sundays.

2026 Events

Lead Harvest: Friday, August 7th at 4:30 at EB Lyons Lead Mine Trail (8991 Bellevue Heights, Dubuque, IA 52003)
Dubuque’s economy was started on lead mining. Join us for a guided hike at 4:30, then hang out to learn about the minerals most important to the tri-states!
 
Wild Weaving: Tuesday, August 11th from 3-5pm at Julien Dubuque Monument (1810 Monument Dr, Dubuque, IA 52003)
Weaving was one of the first ways people made clothing and other fabric-like goods. Come learn how to weave and make a project of your own!

Land and Legacy Open House – Thursday, August 13th from  5-7pm – all are invited at no charge 

Almost Autumn: Wednesday, August 19th at 4pm at the Farmstead Picnic Area (11475 Mines of Spain Rd, Dubuque, IA 52003 turn at park stop sign) Join us on a guided hike to learn about the late season blooms and how some animals start getting ready for fall! Come prepared for a 1-mile hike with proper footwear and water!
